HOW I WORK

Five Elements Acupuncture

Appointments

Initial Appointment

The Acupuncture Initial consultation is an in-depth interview covering your current conditions and past medical and personal history, events and experiences that have contributed to your current reason for seeking acupuncture treatment. First visit also includes a physical exam and an acupuncture treatment.

Frequency of Treatments

The goal of acupuncture and Chinese medicine is to build up your core energy and make sure that the energy is flowing well and the symptoms of body, mind, and spirit are in balance. I recommend consecutive weekly treatments for the first 7-9 weeks to establish a pattern for your body to respond to and to get a jump start on your healing.

Subsequent Sessions

Each in-person session will begin with a time for you to communicate your current experiences, symptoms and progress. An acupuncture treatment will follow the brief check in

Herbal Supplements

At different times during the course of your treatments you may be prescribed a particular herbal formula for your general symptoms or complaints. This formula is not designed to be taken for long periods of time and are generally prescribed for acute conditions that may last from two weeks to a few months. All herbs are checked for drug-herb interactions. Should at any time you have an adverse reaction to the herbal formula, immediately contact me and discontinue use. We will always discuss in-depth the nature of the formulas and their purpose in your health plan.
